ImageAssist Launches Loupeâ„¢ and the Model Store, Adding Objective Before-and-After Analysis to Clinical Photography and Aesthetic Medicine

NewsHealthTechImageAssist Launches Loupeâ„¢ and the Model Store, Adding Objective Before-and-After Analysis to Clinical Photography and Aesthetic Medicine

NASHVILLE, Tenn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–ImageAssist, the HIPAA-compliant clinical photography platform incubated at Vanderbilt Health, today announced Loupeâ„¢, an AI analysis workspace, and the Model Store, a library of AI models that run inside it. In Loupeâ„¢, a clinician opens a patient’s photos, runs a model or asks a question in plain language, much like using a chat assistant. The Model Store launches with two models: Face Nexus, a before-and-after facial analysis model developed by Dr. Orr Shauly of Emory University School of Medicine, and Cipher, a privacy model that removes protected health information (PHI) from photo sets, built by a team at Vanderbilt Health.

ImageAssist already helps practices and health systems capture standardized photos, organize them, compare results, simulate procedures, use them for patient education and marketing, and file them to the patient chart through integrations with more than eight EMR systems. Loupeâ„¢ adds the next step: analysis. Face Nexus gives clinicians a consistent, measurable view of change to review with the patient. Clinicians can also ask Loupeâ„¢ questions about a patient’s photos in plain language, in a chat-style interface inside the same HIPAA-compliant platform.

Show patients what changed, with numbers behind it

Face Nexus analyzes before-and-after photos to quantify visible change in facial age and wrinkles between visits. For medspas and aesthetic practices, that means a consultation conversation built on objective results rather than memory or a good angle. Cipher removes identifying information from images so photo sets can be shared and used for training and research with privacy built in.

Loupeâ„¢ runs inside ImageAssist’s HIPAA-compliant, SOC 2 Type II environment, so practices review and analyze photos where they already store them, with no exports and no second tool.

A Model Store built to grow

The Model Store works like an app store for clinical visual models. As new models are added, the same photos a practice captures today can support new ways to engage patients and measure outcomes across dentistry, dermatology, vein care, wound care, plastic surgery and medical aesthetics. ImageAssist expects to add models for more areas of the face and body, including lips, breast and dental analysis, over time.

The models available at launch support aesthetic analysis and privacy. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or condition, and Loupeâ„¢ supports clinical judgment; it does not replace it.

Model as a service: two ways to partner

ImageAssist is also announcing its model-as-a-service program:

  • Model partners. Clinicians and organizations with an existing model can publish it in the Model Store and put it in front of practices already using ImageAssist.
  • Data partners. Practices and organizations with a well-documented photo library and an idea can work with the ImageAssist team to turn that data into a model, built and delivered through the platform.

“Practices already take photos at every visit, and most of that value sits unused,” said Jonathan Sadlowe, CEO of ImageAssist. “Loupeâ„¢ lets a clinician look closer at those photos and show a patient an objective, side-by-side view of their result. That builds trust in the room and supports the consults and follow-up visits that grow a practice. The Model Store is how we keep adding to it, with models built by the clinicians who know the work best.”

“Patients want to know a treatment worked, and clinicians want a way to show it that doesn’t rest on memory,” said Dr. Orr Shauly, developer of Face Nexus, and Administrative Chief Plastic Surgery Resident at Emory University. “Face Nexus gives a consistent, measurable view of change between visits. Loupeâ„¢ gives it a home inside the workflow clinicians already use for their photos, so more patients can see their results clearly.”
