โComet Can Make Android Obsoleteโ – CEO, Aravind Srinivas
CEO Aravind confidently says that the โAI-powered web browser can make Android obsolete.โ Users can now unlock the full potential of AI to complete different tasks by simply writing prompts without any human intervention.
He further claims that the browser โhas the potential to deprecate Androidโ. The complete idea behind the new update is that users do not need to rely on operating systems and apps to carry out their everyday digital tasks. Simply describe what you want, and the Comet is here to assist you. For example, instead of opening an app, users can ask Commet to book a flight, get recommendations, summarize a web page, or more.
One noteworthy aspect of Comet is its ability to replace the traditional app-based ecosystem. By letting users perform any task through natural language, Srinivas believes users would no longer depend on operating systems like Android that manage different apps and features.
A Word About the AI Browser Race-
The Android launch of Comet follows the successful desktop debut, which is now freely available to the public. Perplexity is also planning for bigger goals and is bringing Comet to iOS soon. The AI player is positioning itself as a cross-platform AI assistant to replace traditional app-based systems.
Another thing is, the move is here after the tough AI browser race happens. OpenAI recently launched ChatGPT Atlas, while Microsoft Edge and Chrome are on their way to expand their AI integrations.
Perplexity describes Comet as a powerful โbrowser for agentic search that can handle complex tasks with less human interference. Built on Chromium, the open-source foundation is also utilized by Edge and Chrome.
However, Comet brings together the similarities of existing browsers along with AI automation. As the move is across mobile platforms, Comet is here to change how users interact with the web, moving from manual browsing to agentic, intelligent browsing, and moving towards the digital world, all the way!
