SpaceXAI has officially released Grok 4.5, its strongest model ever designed to handle coding, agentic, and real engineering tasks. The model was developed alongside Cursor and trained on datasets covering knowledge in coding, science, engineering, and mathematics using tens of thousands of NVIDIA GB300 GPUs. Grok 4.5 excels across several real engineering tasks and competes with other leading AI models at these tasks.
According to SpaceXAI, “We invested heavily in data filtering and curation, deduplication, quality scoring, and domain-focused selection so that the data mixture stayed with high coverage and high signal.” Its asynchronous training infrastructure enables long-running agentic tasks while improving the model’s performance. The result with Grok 4.5 is intelligent, and efficient reasoning across real engineering and agentic tasks.
Strong Coding & Office Work Capabilities
The new model is ideal for developers with built in enhanced functionality. It can generate complete end-to-end functional apps from a single prompt and supports programming languages such as Rust and C/C++.
Beyond coding, Grok 4.5 works best for office work. It is now the default AI engine in Grok Build, allowing users to build complex Excel workbooks with multi-sheet formulas, conduct research on the web, and generate notes and stickies. The model can also create diagrams using native PowerPoint shapes and write content in Word. In short, Grok 4.5 is great for handling professional work tasks with minimal user input.
Faster & Efficient Opus Class Model
One of the biggest highlights of Grok 4.5 is its efficiency. It serves as a fast model, achieving 80 TPS while offering twice the token efficiency of the latest leading models for the same tasks. Elon Musk on X describes Grok 4.5 as an Opus-class model that’s faster, token-efficient, and low-cost.
Pricing & Availability
Grok is priced at $2 per million input tokens and $6 per million output tokens. This is competitively priced compared to other models while delivering the highest intelligence per unit of time and cost.
Grok 4 is currently available in Grok Build, in Cursor on all plans, and from the SpaceXAI console. To begin, eligible users need to grab an API key and start with a few lines of code.
However, one thing to note is that Grok 4.5 is not yet available in the EU in any of the SpaceXAI products or the API console. Availability in the EU region is expected in Mid-July.
Growing Competition in the AI Industry
The announcement comes amid growing competition in the AI industry and just ahead of OpenAI’s anticipated release of GPT 5.6. With a significant focus on engineering performance, cost efficiency, and productivity tools, Grok 4.5 positions SpaceXAI as a leading competitor in the AI industry.
