Simply tap on the “Help me edit” within the Google Photos editor, and you can describe the changes you want, such as “brighten the image,” adding AI-generated elements for fun, “remove background clutter,” alongside restoring an old image, and more. Gemini goes beyond basic editing features.
In addition to making editing more efficient, this technique also enables people without extensive editing knowledge to produce results that appear professional. For those unsure about where to begin, Gemini offers one-tap recommendations or the option to “make it better.”
Regarding transparency, Google Photos indicates which edits were made using AI tools. Alongside this, the app now supports C2PA Content Credentials, which label images that have been edited with AI, thereby boosting users’ trust.
Regarding Availability and Accessibility
To get started with the feature, users need to meet the following requirements:
- Google Photos version 7.42 or above
- Google Account set to the English language
- Face Groups Enabled
- Location Allowed
Additionally, it is noteworthy that the feature is currently limited to Android users aged 18 and above in the US but is expected to roll out globally later this year.
